MilkyTracker

MilkyTracker is ein Musik-Tracker und ein Klon von Fasttracker 2. Musik-Tracker waren beliebt, um Musik für Computer-Spiele zu erstellen, bevor MP3s verfügbar wurden. Ein Tracker speichert Musik in so genannten Mod-Dateien. Mod-Dateien sind relativ klein, da sie nur aus ein paar, in der Regel kurzen, Audio-Schnipseln bestehen und der Information wann und mit welcher Tonhöhe ein Schnipsel wiedergegeben werden soll.

MilkyTracker is a music tracker and a clone of FastTracker 2. Music trackers have been popular for making game music before the advent of MP3s. A tracker stores music in, so called, mod files. Mod files are rather small, because they only contain a few, usually short, audio clips and the information when and at what pitch which the audio clips should be played.
